Paul Halwax

Paul Halwax è primo solista di tuba dei Wiener Philharmoniker e dell’orchestra dell’opera di stato di Vienna ed è stato anche il più giovane tubista accettato dai Filarmonici. E` inoltre professore presso la rinomata Università di Musica di Detmold (Germania) e presso il MUK, il Conservatorio della città di Vienna. Fa parte della formazione di musica da camera dei Filarmonici di Vienna „Ensemble 11“ e del „Wiener Brass Ensemble“ ed è stato tra i fondatori dell’ensemble „Phil Blech“, con il quale ha registrato due CD per la Deutsche Grammophon.

Con l’orchestra dei Filarmonici di Vienna ha l’opportunità di suonare sotto la direzione dei migliori direttori d’orchestra, da R.Muti, Z.Metha e M.Jansons a C.Thielemann, F.Welser-Möst , V.Gergiev, N.Harnoncourt. Non si contano le registrazioni di opere e concerti dei Wiener Philharmoniker con questi e altri direttori nei teatri e nelle sale da concerto di tutto il mondo, da New York e Los Angeles a Parigi e Londra, da Buenos Aires e Tokyo a Berlino e S.Pietroburgo, da Pechino e Shangai a Roma e Milano, da Rio de Janeiro e Seoul a Bombay, Macao e Abu Dhabi. Concerti come solista ed in diverse formazioni di musica da camera dei Wiener Philharmoniker completano la sua attività musicale come orchestrale.
Paul Halwax è anche ambasciatore ufficiale del marchio Melton, famosa ditta di produzione di tube professionali in Germania, che ha sviluppato e prodotto su sua indicazione i suoi strumenti.

Paul Halwax is the first solo tubist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the orchestra of the Vienna state opera and was the youngest tuba player who was ever accepted at the VPO. He is also professor at the renowned music universitiy of Detmold (Germany) and at the MUK, the conservatory of the city of Vienna.
Paul Halwax is member of the chamber music formation of the the VPO “ensemble 11” and “Wiener Brass ensemble” and he is founding member of the ensemble “Phil Blech” with whom he recorded two albums for Deutsche Grammophon.
With the VPO he played under the baton of the best conductors of our time, as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Metha, Mariss Jansons, Christian Thielemann, Franz Welser-Möst, Valeriy Gergiev and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Countless are the recordings of concerts and operas he performed with the VPO, with many different conductors and in the concert halls of the world, as Tokio, New York and Los Angeles, Shanghai, Rome and Milan, Rio de Janeiro and Seoul, Bombay, Macao and Abu Dhabi.
Concerts as a soloist and chamber musician complete his musical activity.
Paul Halwax is also official ambassador for Melton, the famous tuba builder from Germany, where he also designed and created his own costume tuba model.
